The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have announced that cases of Norovirus, have significantly increased. They report that levels are the highest they’ve been for 10 years and are 66% higher than
average.

Dr Lesley Larkin of UKHSA specifically warned that alcohol-based hand sanitizers do not kill Norovirus and stressed the importance of hand hygiene in helping to stop the spread of the disease.

Norovirus is highly contagious and can be caught through contact with infected people or contaminated surfaces. It spreads rapidly and can live for a many days outside a host. Symptoms include sudden vomiting, diarrhoea, a temperature, headache, and stomach cramps.

When it’s not possible to wash your hands, it’s important to use a good hand sanitiser that can kill the virus such as Protectus ViridisTM handrub. It’s been independently tested and specifically proven to be 99.99% effective against Norovirus and suitable for use on sensitive skin.

Protectus ViridisTM handrub, surface spray and wipes are all highly efficacious at killing bacteria, viruses and mould. They also have a residual efficacy which means once applied, they continue to protect from recontamination for up to 24 hours on surfaces and 4 hours on hands.

Protectus ViridisTM is a water-based, alcohol free, sustainable product that is 100% biodegradable; in line with our mission to change how we protect both us and our world. And unlike some other no
alcohol disinfectants, it doesn’t contain harmful quaternary ammonium compounds that can cause breathing problems and skin rashes.

Residual Barrier Technology is a global developer, formulator and manufacturer of hygiene and infection control products. For more information about Protectus ViridisTM visit our website or watch our YouTube video to see more about its residual efficacy and how it successfully kills germs.
