RBT Nominated for Med-Tech Innovation Award for 100% Biodegradable Eco-Wipes
Residual Barrier Technology (RBT) have been nominated as a finalist for a prestigious Med-Tech Innovation award. These awards commend innovations in medical technology, and their sustainability category celebrates how innovative design reduces the environmental footprint of a medical device.
Although there is a market shift towards biodegradable disinfectant wipes, often the disinfectant chemicals used in them remain bad for the environment. RBT have developed a new truly 100% biodegradable disinfectant wipe for the healthcare sector that is impregnated with a highly effective 100% biodegradable disinfectant.
RBT’s Protectus Eco-wipes can support the greener NHS initiative and its drive towards net zero by minimising the environmental damage caused by the microplastics and chemicals released into healthcare environments by traditional wipes.
Some of the advantages of Protectus Eco-wipes are:
- 100% biodegradable wipes.
- 100% biodegradable disinfectant.
- Fully antiviral against enveloped & non-enveloped viruses.
- Antibacterial & yeasticidal.
- Water-based.
- Up to 24-hour residual efficacy on surfaces.
- Food safe, no-rinse formulation.
Winners of the awards will be announced on 7th June 2023
Christine Brander, RBT’s founder and Executive Chair, began developing the Daventry based business in 2008. She recognised the need for more effective and biodegradable sanitising solutions while researching anti-bacterial coatings for NHS sinks and wash stations.
